of a reformer or floor exercises on a mat or Swiss ball.
Our Pilates trained physiotherapist
is able to provide Pilates Programs focused on increasing core stability,
therefore minimising risk of injury at work, home and in the sports field.
Benefits of Pilates
- dynamic and static stretching
- muscle/tendon elasticity
- range of movement
- improves postural awareness
- specific emphasis on concentration, control and breath
Those looking for a balanced and balancing exercise program swear by the Pilates
method and its unique way to combine stretching and core strengthening in every single move.
Realtime Ultrasound
Realtime Ultrasound is a useful diagnostic tool when assessing weakness and control
of core stability musculature, where this weakness and lack of control has lead to
back pain. Realtime Ultrasound can also be used in conjunction with other treatment
to aid in the retraining of these muscles in a number of different postures and functional positions.
The retraining is very specific and is proven to help provide relief from certain
types of back pain and also prevent recurrence. From the office worker to the heavy
duty worker, this treatment has the potential to be very beneficial.
Realtime Ultrasound is available at our Malaga and Welshpool branches.

A Pre-Placement Assessment
Looks at a prospective employee in terms of their overall physical risk of injury in comparison to the job tasks
An assessment:
Includes a greater functional risk component pertinent to the specific
job description and reports on any risk
When indicated includes a cardio- respiratory fitness test
(remote sites/Hot humid conditions).
Acts as a guide to determine the likelihood of a prospective employee
developing pain/dysfunction due to repetitive strain as a result of the required
manual handling and the critical tasks which make up the duties.
Work capacity evaluation aerobic fitness/cycle test.
These pre-employment physical assessments are designed as an added value component of a
pre-employment medical examination or a stand alone fit for work assessment.
They include an education segment and work hardening on correct manual handling
techniques based on the employment sought.
These assessments can assist with return to work programmes and with effective task progressions as well.

Following injury you may require a special physical rehabilitation program set
up in conjunction with your work, home or sports activities. Carepoint
Physiotherapists are able to manage and set up a tailored programme at a

Our gym programs are based on your physical capacity assessment. Using objective
measures we are able to progress your program. Regular objective assessments reflect
your improvement allowing us to set and achieve realistic goals especially in a return to work programme.
Our Physiotherapists monitor and update your progress according to your physical condition at each progress assessment.
These programs are designed to run parallel with your increase in life/work
activities/training so that there is a smooth transition from injury to full physical function.
